Mobile Experiences: Is the iPhone really a Phone?

Once the hype has died down I expect that we’ll see video consumption on iPhones and growth in video downloads – via WiFi networks, not mobile networks become the growth area. This growth in digital downloaded media consumption plays to Apple’s strengths in computers and software, and also builds a new line of consumer electronics to drive Apple’s revenue growth.

On top of the music and video potential of the iPhone, it could also become the most popular e-book reader with its large screen and intuitive interface. I could see Japanese mobile phone novel readers and new e-book devotees embracing the iPhone as their new portable reader.
