I like the new Mac Pro with the dual Xeons. The item that I like the most about the new machine is the room for 4 drives. The room for only 2 drives in the old G5 towers was inadequate for many users. Even at $2,199 for a dual 2 Ghz configuration, I think the computer is still too pricey for much of the market. People will say take a look at the Mac mini or the iMac, but I don’t like the lack of expansion capabilities with either machine. What would be an awesome machine at MacWorld 2007 is a smaller size tower with core 2 duo. This is a machine that could really grow market share. Of course, there would be cannibalization of the Mac Pro market, and that might be the reason why a smaller Mac Pro with core 2 duo never comes out.
