CIA – The World Factbook — Israel
With all the recent unrest concerning Israel and its neighbors, I wanted to check out the size of the country. According to the CIA World Factbook, it’s slightly smaller than New Jersey and its population is only 6.3 million. No wonder it’s so concerned about its security – especially with rockets being fired right from the Lebanese border. I think the key fact to remember in all the Arab-Israeli conflicts and wars since the end of WWII is that if Israel is defeated, there is no other Jewish state in the Middle East. On the other hand, there are many Arab states.
