Sometimes an iPod freezes and locks up. Here’s how to make it functional again:
With a 4G iPod, you have to have it plugged in via the power supply or the firewire cable, switch the hold button on and then off, then press the menu and middle button until the Apple icon appears for a reset. The nice thing about the iPod nano is that you can perform this same reset sequence without having it plugged in.
