Apple iPad signals the beginning of the end of the dedicated e-book reader

Posted by on April 27, 2010

I think the iPad signals the beginning of the end of the dedicated e-book readers. In addition to the Kindle and iBooks apps, I can surf the web or read my email on a device which is just the right size. The Netflix streaming app is there for video, and the quick boot up is so liberating. The NY Times and USA Today apps are perfect for a quick fix of the daily news. The amount of diverse apps also can’t be discounted. Between the games and other forms of entertainment and information delivery on the iPad, it really is a very adaptable device for a person’s needs. When Christmas 2010 rolls around, consumers will do the math and purchase an iPad or some other tablet pc.
