WRT54G Version 8 Hell
I had major problems with the admin for the Linksys WRT54G Version 8 router at my in-laws’ house yesterday. All I tried to do was press the reset switch so that I could access the admin. This resulted in hours of power cycling, resets, a firmware upgrade, and eventually a non-functional router. I did some … Continue reading
How to remove line breaks from posts sent via email to WordPress
If you send email posts through Gmail to WordPress, line breaks will be inserted into the post (line breaks aren’t inserted when sent in plain text format via Outlook 2007). In order to remove them, I installed the TinyMCE advanced plug-in and added the “Edit HTML Source” button to the editor. In order to remove … Continue reading
Sending posts via email to WordPress on OS X with a POP connection
This link shows how you can post to your blog via email: http://codex.wordpress.org/Blog_by_Email#Hack_E-mail_Format but there are a few tweaks I had to do to get it to work on my WordPress installation on Mac OS X Server. The first thing I had to figure out is that since my mail server requires a secure connection … Continue reading
Who is this person in the “Mojave Experiment”?!
The whole premise of the “Mojave Experiment” is flawed since if something’s really good, why do you have to pretend it’s something else?! To make it even worse, they keep showing this goofy looking person in all their online ads! Yeah, that really makes me want to check out the “Mojave Experiment”. Not. I think … Continue reading
Disable Java to play YouTube in Firefox
I found out today that the reason why YouTube videos were stalling after a few seconds in Firefox was because of Java. I disabled Java within Firefox, restarted Firefox, and YouTube videos are now playing without any problem. I don’t use Java much with the websites I visit so it’s no big loss. Some more … Continue reading
Played Pixeljunk Monsters via Remote Play on the PSP
I played Pixeljunk Monsters last night via Remote Play on the PSP. It actually helped to see the whole screen on the PSP rather than on the 50″ HDTV for this game. The control wasn’t as good as the PS3 controllers, but it was acceptable. I also viewed some streaming video after I played some … Continue reading
Watched Cloverfield through XBox Live download
I watched Cloverfield via an XBox Live download yesterday. The cost was 320 points for a normal download and 480 points for a HD download (at $20 for 1600 points this comes out to $4 for the normal download and $5 for the HD download). I decided to pay for the less expensive version since … Continue reading
Macworld | Editors’ Notes | The mythical midrange Mac minitower
Link via MacWorld Amen, brother. What I’d like to see is a minitower design with—and this is just one possible configuration that would fulfill my wish—a reasonably powerful processor (perhaps a higher-end Core 2 Duo or a single Xeon); a good graphics card in an upgradeable slot; a decent amount of RAM and hard-drive space; … Continue reading
Updated to WordPress 2.5
I updated my personal and company blog to WordPress 2.5. I like how media is managed in that you can see a list of thumbnails and titles along with searching for a specific media file. All the plug-ins I was using also see to work without any problem. Previously, some plug-ins were causing the plug-in … Continue reading
Update on MacBook and MacBook Pro
There were speed bumps with the MacBook and MacBook Pro today. I really like the new 2.4 GHz 15″ entry level MacBook Pro. With 2 Gb of RAM, it should be fine for all my needs.
