This is huge. I can imagine getting a nice Mac Tower in the future with an Intel CPU. Most of the time I would run OS X, but when I want to play games, I’d just boot into Windows. This is also great for Microsoft since Apple won’t be asking OEM prices for the Windows/Vista operating system. There will be individual purchases from Mac users at higher margins for Microsoft.

I think the funniest part of this article is that Roddy Frame only learned how to drive last year. Although Roddy played a great tour in SLC during his Stray tour, I felt I was going be smushed at times in the SRO crowd. Roddy has such a great voice and he complements it well with his guitar.

Firefly – The Complete Series

I started watching Firefly – The Complete Series last night, and I had to make myself stop watching after the pilot and the first episode since it was time to go to bed at midnight. The characters and plot draw you in to the world of Firefly, and I’m eager to see how everything plays out in the series and the movie Serenity. It’s classic space opera with good dialog that doesn’t overindulge in special effects.

A Small Editorial About Recent Events

A Small Editorial About Recent Events

How come I’ve come to expect stuff like this from the present administration? And again I hear Condi Rice trying to defend the administration’s actions on Meet the Press – hemming and hawing as she did to the 9-11 commission. My major concern as voiced in the link above is that Bush’s actions set a very dangerous precedent. How much further can a President go to justify his actions after this?

Should Kids Play Games? – Kotaku

Great letter on Should Kids Play Games. I’ve already seen the gaming addiction with my 5-year old daughter. My wife was so mad when she kept telling my daughter to stop playing Barbie Magic Pegasus, but 15 minutes later, she’d be back at the game.

This is a really sad story. Not only are children’s bikes stolen, but they’re bikes for children with disabilities!

Ask the Doctor: A brighter shade of…. yellow?

Ask the Doctor: A brighter shade of…. yellow?

I didn’t know a substantial number of adults could have excess bilirubin issues. I haven’t heard of bilirubin since my daughter was born. She turned yellow for awhile, since her new liver wasn’t able to process the excess bilirubin – a common occurrence in newborns. What’s interesting is that the cure was to put her under high intensity light via flourescent tubes or the sun since the light would help break down the bilirubin. Doing some reading around the Internet, it seems to be the high energy blue wavelengths that help break down the bilirubin. A key to this phototherapy is that baby’s eyes must be covered for their protection.

Joyce Carol Oates follows boxing and now I’ve found out that Camille Paglia follows pro football.

From the article. This would really piss me off if I was an Eagles fan:

But what really infuriated Philadelphia fans was when, after an embarrassing 33-10 loss to the hated Dallas Cowboys in Texas Stadium on Oct. 9, Owens insolently donned a No. 88 Michael Irvin throwback Cowboys jersey for the flight home. Sports radio seethed not only at Owens but at our maddeningly phlegmatic coach and other players for passively permitting this insult without protest or comment. It became apparent that the team was splitting into pro- and anti-Owens camps.
