Stopped feeding Hikari Crab Cuisine
Yesterday, I fed 2 pellets of Hikari Crab Cuisine and 1 pellet of Sera Shrimps Natural. This morning, I found another dead Red Cherry Shrimp. It seems like I see dead Red Cherry Shrimp every time I feed Hikari. I’m going to stop feeding Hikari for a month and see if I see any more dead shrimp.
A RCS managed to get out of the 2.5g at work, and I saw its dried remains on Monday lying beside the tank. I don’t know how or why it got out of the tank.

Adding .5ml to 2.5g and 15ml to 26g of Kent Freshwater Plant nutrient a week
Adding .5ml to 2.5g and 3ml to 26g of Kent Freshwater Plant nutrient a week. Plants in 2.5g and 15g are doing really well, but the ones in the 26g just seem to be slowly wasting away. I’m not sure what the reason might be. Actually, I’m going to add 15ml of of Kent Freshwater Plant to the 26g this week and see what happens. What’s really strange is why the Brazilian Pennywort is doing well in the 15g at home but not in the 26g. I theorize the constant addition of RO water for makeup water left a some type of mineral deficiency in the water.

Adding 2.5 ml Kent Freshwater Plant Supplement a week to 15g
I’m adding 2.5 ml of Kent Freshwater Plant Supplement a week to the 15 gallon tank and turning the light on from 7am to 8am and 1 pm to 8 pm for a total of 8 hours a day to control the algae in the tank. It’s not bad right now with some film, beard and spiral algae, but I don’t want it to get out of control. I’ll also lightly feed only every other day.
In the future, once the algae’s under control, I’ll increase the photoperiod by 1 hour a day and increase the supplement by .5 ml a week.
