I’m a disaster junkie
The scale and suffering of the disaster caused by Hurricane Katrina has enthralled me via cable tv and the web. I’ll start at channel 60 with MSNBC, then go downwards through the channels to FOX and CNN. What concerns me the most is that there’s so much suffering going on at a local level, but … Continue reading

My sense of illusion was lost when a old Huey picked up the soldier who had just lost his leg from an IED at the end of the pilot episode of Over There. The pickup would have been with a Blackhawk, not a Huey, but perhaps the budget isn’t big enough or there are no … Continue reading

Slip and Slide warning
After you’re done using a Slip and Slide, don’t leave it out in the sun to dry. The sun will heat it up and bake the grass underneath. We have a nice brown strip of burnt grass in the backyard right now. At least only the tips were burnt.
